The Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy (WPNSA) successfully tracked racing from the Tempest World Championships across the World using the new Race-Trax Live Positioning System. Throughout the week long competition the conditions challenged the sailors with winds between 15 to 35 knots. Despite the testing conditions, the benefits of the legendary Weymouth Bay sailing waters were demonstrated with nine races successfully and safely sailed
At the prize giving the competitors paid tribute to the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy as a world class venue facilitating nine races, as well as Race Trax Live Positioning system being hailed a complete success.
With initial trials now completed, the Race Trax Live Positioning System will now be used for the upcoming Sail for Gold Regatta, 15 to 20 September at the 2012 sailing venue in Weymouth and Portland.
